Codename Yuan Adds Dungeon and Two Spies

Without much fanfare, Codename Yuan is preparing to launch a major update. Crickex App game analysts report that two brand-new elite spies—Gan Ning and Zhen Ji—are set to debut, alongside a fresh dungeon tied to Sun Ce. You can’t build an ocean without starting with a stream, and this update promises big waves. Still, many players have struggled with in-game lag, causing them to lose high-damage progress and restart from scratch—a frustration that hits hard after intense effort.

Following the update, a new limited-time card pool called “Strike the Golden Drums” will go live. During the event, players will have a boosted chance to recruit Gan Ning and Zhen Ji using Tianji Tokens. The pity counter system remains unchanged and does not carry over between pools. After the event ends, both spies will be added to the permanent pool. Let’s first take a look at Gan Ning—a sharp-eyed, stylishly dressed character whose refined visuals are sure to win over fans.

Gan Ning can serve as both a support and a primary damage dealer. His long-term damage scaling and second-star talent are well-tailored for future water-element team builds. As for his fate boards, Crickex App experts strongly recommend “Effortless Gain” and “Savage Strike.” The “Corruption” board is ideal if he’s assigned as team leader, while “Attack Leech” is less suitable—it may disrupt team balance, especially for shield and healing setups. Strength built on conviction always beats strength driven by mere interest.

Gan Ning’s mechanics are particularly creative. At the start of battle, he assigns 10 “buy-life coins” to enemies. His basic attacks reclaim these coins. When reclaimed, he boosts his allies’ damage, acting as a support. If the coins remain on enemies, Gan Ning becomes a main DPS—his damage increases based on how many coins are still in play. A handsome, dual-role powerhouse like this is a must-pull character.

Now let’s talk about the new female character—Zhen Ji. There’s something about her that feels like she could be a distant cousin of Achan. Zhen Ji’s core skill deals single-target damage while also applying an area-wide rebound effect. The cap of this rebound damage scales with her max HP, so for her fate boards, “Max HP Boost” is a top priority. Her second-star talent allows her to stack a special buff on enemies and extends the duration of her ultimate’s mechanics, causing extra rebound damage.

For Zhen Ji, essential fate boards include “Suppress,” which increases her bonus damage when paired with her talent. Another useful board is “Counterstrike,” which reduces the mechanism count but increases the effect strength of each remaining one. However, avoid the “Undercover” board, which is considered counterproductive in her case.

Once players reach title level 26 in the Xiuyi Tower ranking, they’ll unlock access to the new dungeon. There, they can obtain Sun Ce’s exclusive treasure item—Seal Script: Tail End—as well as Tianji Tokens and other valuable rewards via the “Dungeon Challenge” and “Hidden Treasure” systems.

The new Seal Script: Tail End will also become available in the “Reunion” flower shop after the update, where Crickex App users can redeem it using floral vouchers. Of all the easy things in the world, procrastination is the easiest. To help players stay engaged, the game will also launch a limited-time cumulative top-up event. Players who meet the required point threshold during this event can receive exclusive Liu Bian interactions, special tokens, unique avatar frames, and other rare rewards.
